Dear Kyle,

ABIDE IN ME

Jesus was very clear in what we must do in order to have Him ABIDE in us and we in Him.

He left this command for us in John 6:53-57, and it is the only place in Holy Scripture in which you will find it:

53 " Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you (the taken away branch);

54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56 HE WHO EATS MY FLESH AND DRINKS MY BLOOD ABIDES IN ME, AND I IN HIM.

57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me."

What does "Truly, truly" mean to you in verse 53? What does "unless" mean?

The body lives because it receives real food sustenance. Starve the body and it will die.

Just as the body needs real sustenance, so does the soul, else it will not bear fruit.

The soul lives by real Divine sustenance, the true presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

Apparently the post was thoughtful enough for YOU to read it, check out my twitter page, notice how many people I follow, then choose to leave a critical comment ANONYMOUSLY. If you're going to criticize, at least tell us who you are or you are an online coward.

To answer your comment though, I have meaningful relationships both in real life and some I enjoy following on Twitter. The people I "follow" on twitter aren't all close friends (some are), they are people whose thoughts enrich my life, make me laugh, and cause me to think differently.

You should try that.

This was a very lame post... If you are really offended by those things you put way to much thought into twitter. Twitter is a very fake place holding very fake relationships especially when you follow 600+ people. It should be used for the enjoyment of the tweeter, not the following or followers.

well pastor Kyle... last night before i went to bed i prayed and reminded God that i want Him to use me but to be kinda clear to where... let me explain... i work with children with autism...i love working with children in the spectrum! special education is my passion (so bad i created a ministry at church to serve people with disabilities!) ...but my job has been super streesful. my neck and head has been hurting and i just wannna stay home and cry. my supervisors are always fighting amoung them and it just totally affects the environment and my job. for a few months now i have been praying for another job. i have always said in prayers that it would be awesome to have a job in like a ministry. two weeks ago i found out that there is an openning for a ministry possition in Youth For Christ here in the Imperial Valley...there are pretty good chances i could get the position but my doubts and prayers where for the pay... i would get paid much less than what i get paid now and it has to do with teenagers and not disability...
i love the LORD... i wouldnt mind getting this job even if it means no good pay... i just didnt want to get a job that would not be in Gods plans... you know? so today that you retweeted this blog i founf my answer... ministry it is...
so... my comment was more like to thank you! it was just what i needed to read!

I also think this is a key reason spending regular time in Scripture is so crucial. If we believe Scripture is God's Word and He is the one best positioned to illuminate our hearts and minds where we have been blind, then surely we need to pay close attention to where we KNOW He speaks. Renee, I TOTALLY agree. I try to strike a balance between brutal honesty and healthy boundaries but I definitely lean on the side of openness. I once heard Former President Bush say in an interview that "everyone has the same 24 hours in a day." It really spoke to me about why I wouldn't do certain things.

Justin, here are 2 ways to know if someone RT's you through the RT button:

1. Sign into Twitter through the web, and the tab that says "Retweets" and at the bottom it says "Your tweets, ReTweeted."

2. Tweetdeck. I like Tweetdeck for my desktop because it tells us. I haven't found an iPhone client that shows RT's. There might be one out there though.

The worst is when someone can, will, or does not respond to ANYTHING. I pride myself in being an open book and it frustrates me to no end sometimes when people don't take the time to communicate. I do understand, however, that not everyone has the time or space to do so. I thank God daily for the ministry He has allowed me to participate in and I definitely don't take it for granted. Well done Kyle, well done!

I am 17 been saved for over a year and have full plans on becoming a pastor, i know i am called.
