Trust the message God puts on your heart.

This post is primarily for my pastor/ministry friends; but I welcome all of you on the journey of reading it. Today, I learned a valuable ministry lesson.

TRUST THE MESSAGE GOD HAS PUT ON YOUR HEART.

As a leader, I can't tell you how often I doubt and wonder if I'm really hearing what I'm supposed to be; and Saturday night I felt something tugging me to change my entire message.

I know what you're thinking...

I probably changed my message and it was amazing and worth staying up all night

Nope. That's not what I did.

I made the decision to TRUST the message God had put on my heart. I made the decision to believe that the week's worth of work was worth it, and that it was from God.

I told God that if I was wrong, I'd change my whole sermon the night before the next time I felt this way. I think God is a lot more the God of wisdom than the God of whims.

The result? It was probably one of the best mornings at City Church. EVER.

Could I have stayed up all night and conjured up a new message? Probably. But I felt for me that would have been giving into a destructive pattern of constantly analyzing whether I'm really hearing from God rather than TRUSTING THE MESSAGE GOD PUT ON MY HEART.

Whether you're a pastor, ministry leader, business leader, or a student, we all have access to the same voice of God. If you feel the temptation to doubt it. DON'T. Satan is the one who loves to instill doubt. God is the one who loves to give us new ideas. Friend. TRUST THEM. It's always worth it.

I haven't blogged in a while, but I'm getting back on the saddle now.

Love,

Kyle
