I'm not taking Carrie Prejean's Side.

Not sure how many of you out there have been following the "Carrie Prejean" debacle of a "conservative" young girl who came out against homosexual marriage and has since experienced an entire whirlwind of media controversy beginning with nude photos and culminating in the recent discovery of an inappropriate video of her recently discovered by TMZ.

First off, I feel bad for her and can't fathom the level of stress she has experienced lately; but I'm going to be honest... She's not "representin' well right now. There are lots of Bible-believing Christians out there that are getting fed up with all these allegations coming out. She really seems to be in her own little universe, and in genuine need of some help.

Here's a quote from the pageant director...

"The childish behavior, her negative attitude, the sarcasm and condescending tone, the disrespect and continual lying she is demonstrating now is only a fraction of what we endured during her reign and after." I found this on CNN's website. I think that comment might be a bit extreme... but here's a girl who repeatedly seems to have more incriminating stories coming out. Everyone has a past; but her past seems pretty recent. I think she needs some time to sit on the sidelines and heal from all this.

Don't get me wrong, I really do believe the media has targeted her directly and inappropriately as she's said in her book; but I am not exactly jumping to Carrie's defense here even though she is a fellow Christian.

I genuinely believe she's a Christian who went through a really difficult experience; but it seems she needs help. I'm not even judging her for the past, everyone has a past. It just seems that now would be a more appropriate time for Carrie to get some genuine help not just be on TV promoting a book while all your dirty laundry is coming out.

My take on the Larry king debacle is that she had been barraged by reporters all day and at the end of the day couldn't handle it anymore. I know she's a Christian and we all make mistakes; but I'm a little tired of this thing.

I'm open to being wrong and "misjudging" this situation. I welcome the conversation in the comments. What do you think? Please no "hate" on me from Christians. I like the fact that she did stand up for her beliefs; but now she's just not helping the situation.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Yeah, I'm just tired of hearing her talk in any way. Her 15 minutes of fame are up. But more than that, she's a poor example of a "Christian." I don't know what her little tantrum was about on Larry King. I mean, she had to have known that Larry was going to ask her some tough questions, and he always has viewers call in. Lame-O.

India, I totally agree. You have to know going on a show like that that they're job IS TO ASK the tough questions. If they don't do it, they're not doing their job.

Larry King is a very respectable journalist in the business; and it's repugnant to me that a 22 year old beauty queen would have the audacity to walk off stage from a guy who has interviewed people like Billy Graham gracefully.

But... I also know that she's a Christian in development like the rest of us so I'll be lifting her up before God in prayer too. I just hope she gets off TV and takes some time to heal.

I agree- I'm pretty tired of seeing her face everywhere.
It is kinda funny (funny, but not really in a "haha" kinda of way) to me though to see how so many people from the Christian community are treating her. The same people that embraced her and placed her on a pedestal after standing up for traditional marriage are now the same people that are attacking her and looking down upon her.
She has obviously made some mistakes, and she should own up to them, but she should still be accepted with love and forgiveness especially by the Christian communtiy. Where would we all be without forgiveness?
She definitely need to get herself out of the spotlight though! She's not helping herself out in any way.

The media barrages anybody in the public arena; calling foul on this is like complaining about gravity. If she is indeed a follower of Christ she will recognize that her ability to represent Christ's church at a global level has been seriously compromised by her "settled" hypocrisy.

While I think Christians don't need to constantly worry about PR and image issues––as if Jesus' bride were entered in a beauty pageant––a more careful process should be taken in affirming who publicly displays the Christian faith.

Jeff Hansen says:

We need to shun her. Real Christians don't love adulteresses.

Jeff Hansen - Shunning you right now... lol

Christy, yes I agree the "crowds" are turning; but my thing is that those leaders that put her up on the pedistal are suffering the consequences now for hastily thinking she was so amazing for standing up. A little more time and wisdom would have helped.

Eric, I totally agree.

Jeff Hansen... UNSHUN - You are hilarious... and insightful :)
